Norwalk's Shannon Singleton-Bates scored a career-high 32 points on Sunday for Francis Marion University, though her team lost to UNC Pembroke, 85-74, in a women's college basketball game.
Singleton-Bates, a senior, moved into 12th place on the school's all-time scoring list and has over 1,400 career points. She shot 10-for-19 from the field and made 8-of-9 free throws for Francis Marion, which fell to 7-3 overall.
Singleton-Bates leads the team in scoring (19.9 ppg) and is second in steals. Francis Marion is located in Florence, S.C.
