NORWALK, Conn. – The 16U Norwalk Riptide raised its Fairfield County Fastpitch Softball League record to 7-2 with a pair of wins last week. The Riptide defeated the Danbury Adrenalin, 5-3, and the Fairfield Fury, 8-7.
Over the weekend, Norwalk took third at the Valley Fusion Summer Sizzler Pony Tournament with a 4-1 record. After going undefeated in pool play, Norwalk beat the Waterford Rapids, 14-2, in the quarterfinals. The Long Island Bandits held off the Riptide in the semifinals, 4-3.
The team meets Southbury Heat and Bethel this week before traveling to Lancaster, N.H., to represent Connecticut in the 16-and-under New England Babe Ruth Regional Tournament.
