NORWALK, Conn. Norwalks Adam Robertino and Brien McMahons Shelly Lindo won races Thursday night at the Class LL indoor track and field championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.
Robertino, a senior, blew away the field to win the 55-meter hurdles. He blazed through the race in 7.67, ahead of Kodjo Erasmus of Manchester, who ran 7.93. Norwalks Djess Jacques finished fourth at 8.32.
Lindo won the 55 dash in the girls race, running 7.12. She was just 0.01 off the Class LL record of 7.13 set by Danburys Shelby Walton in 2008. McMahons Sarah Boyd finished in 7.45, and Norwalks Crystle Hill took third, also in 7.45. Lindo also took third in the 55 hurdles, followed by Boyd. Lindo was also second in the 300, running 42.09. McKenzie Hollenbaugh of Glastonbury won in 42.09.
In other highlights for Norwalk schools, Norwalks Claire Turner took fourth in the 600 and Brien McMahons Chris Madaffari finished sixth in the 3,200. Also for Norwalk, Isiah Bell leaped to sixth in the high jump.
