The Norwalk Junior Soccer Association Impact U-16 girls team finished with a 3-0-1 record through four games over two days to claim first place at the Wilton Nutmeg Tournament. Impact netted eight goals, while surrendering only three en route to claiming the crown.
Jenna Gentile clinched a victory for Impact, scoring the lone goal in the opening game of tournament play with a 1-0 victory over the hosts with an assist by Ericka Randazzo. In game 2, Impact recorded a 3-1 victory over New Fairfield. Lillie Diomede scored two unassisted goals and assisted teammate Kathleen Machado for the final tally. In a rematch of the opening round, Impact erupted for a 3-1 victory over Wilton. Kathleen Machado scored two goals, while Laura Linehan tallied her first goal of the tournament off an assist from Gentile.
In the fourth and final game, Impact took on New Fairfield again. They fell behind early but battled back and tied the game on a goal by Lillie Diomede.
Julianne Arcamone, Jasmine Kishimoto, Gianna Bazzano, Lindsay Uzwiak, Meghan LaRosa, Lindsay Chironna and Ali Carvalho anchored the Impact defense that surrendered only three goals throughout the tournament.
