Harris, a sixth-grader at Nathan Hale, led Norwalk's strong delegation of wrestlers. The top four wrestlers in each weight class from New England states met to determine regional champions in the two-day tournament.

Harris pinned the entire bracket, including the Massachusetts champion Griffin Coyne in the finals.

Harris has remained undefeated this year going 27-0 with 17 pins for the Mad Bulls.

Another Mad Bull who made it into the finals was teammate Nick Augeri, who placed second, losing a hard fought 9-2 decision to Massachusetts State Champion Joshua Cordio.

Also placing were Artie Cocchia and Zavier Hernandez who took fourth place.

Koy Price had four wins on the day, including three pins, and battled all day to place fifth as he earned a spot on the championship podium along with teammate Justin Gierum, who also placed fifth.

Newcomers Jacob Gonzales and Asaiah Baez also wrestled well for the Mad Bulls but did not place.

“We like to talk about resume building moments for the kids,'' coach Art Schad said. "Just being here at the New England’s is a big deal, we have some great things to build upon for next year, as our Mad Bull kids now know the expectation of wrestling at the next level, where everyone here has some sort of success or accomplishment in their wrestling careers, this has been a great experience for all of the kids."

Returning New England champion Jeff Cocchia moved up an age group and won four matches and just failed to place in the consolation rounds, but is already focused on the national qualifiers.
