Norwalk Lacrosse Looks To Contend in 2011

The Norwalk High School boys lacrosse team is not usually a program mentioned in the same breath as the elite teams in Fairfield County. It can be easy to forget that the Bears are just five years removed from a quadruple-overtime loss to Fairfield Prep in the Class L finals.

In the video, Norwalk head coach Chris McGee explains why he believes Norwalk is inching closer to getting back into serious postseason contention. The Bears qualified for the state tournament in 2010 after a year absence and boast a more mature squad this season. Norwalk has its work cut out for it with one of the toughest schedules in the state, but McGee says his team is ready.

Norwalk opens its 2011 season at home at Testa Field against Staples on Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m.
