Norwalk Girls Open Playoffs Monday at Home

NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s girls basketball team will open the Class LL tournament at 6 p.m. Monday with a home game against No. 21 South Windsor.

The winner of Monday’s game advances to meet the winner of Monday’s game between No. 5 HIllhouse and No. 28 Simsbury on Wednesday.

Norwalk brings a 15-6 record into the tournament, including a loss to Wilton in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament last Saturday. The Bears went 13-5 overall in the league and entered the league playoffs on a seven-game winning streak.

Junior center Emma Oyomba leads Norwalk in scoring (13.2 ppg) and rebounds (11.0 rpg). Sophomore guard Erica Cohens is the team’s second leading scorer with 11.8 ppg.
