Pierre-Louis, who played in high school at King in Stamford and for Boston College, topped all players Monday with a 4.51-second 50-yard dash. The linebacker also impressed NFL scouts with his broad jump, vertical leap and short shuttle workouts. His time of 6.92 in a three-cone drill also caught the attention of scouts.

CBSSports.com has projected Pierre-Louis as a sixth or seventh-round draft pick, but could move higher with Monday’s workout. In an analysis on CBSSports.com, Pierre-Louis’ strengths include “Smart and instinct with excellent read/react quickness with an explosive first step.” His weaknesses, in the eyes of scouts, is he “looks more like a safety with his marginal size and slight body type. Limited strength and growth potential to add much more bulk.”

Pierre-Louis won the Walter Camp Connecticut Player of the Year award in December and was a four-year starter at Boston College.

Stamford’s Khairi Fortt, also a linebacker, also worked out at the combine and is also a projected sixth or seventh round draft pick. Norwalk’s Silas Redd, a running back from USC who played with Pierre-Louis at King, is ranked as the No. 22 running back in the draft and is projected a seventh-round draft pick or free agent.
