Norwalk 8th-Grade Football Team Takes League Rose Bowl

NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Packers eighth-grade Gold team finished its season with a 34-0 win over Monroe in the Rose Bowl of the Colonial Football League.

The Packers finished the season 7-3 with wins in six of their final seven games. In two playoff games, the Packers outscored opponents 78-14.

In the Rose Bowl win, quarterback Nick Granata threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns. He added 48 yards rushing.

Willie Sadler hauled in touchdown passes of 48 and 30 yards; Courtlyn Victrium raced 89 yards with a swing pass, and returned two interceptions for touchdowns. Alex Morrissey and Logan Raymond also caught passes for big gains.

Ben Kelly’s two sacks led the defense. Other defensive standouts included Ayinde Johnson, Shane Kilcoyne, Dax Generoso, Amari Brown, James Makszin, Greg Gudalewski, Cash McCarthy, Tre Razor, Julius Beau, Jeff Capone, Jake Trani and Josh Tilton.  The offensive line was led by Sean Leary, Alex Ruther, John Chironna and Larry Joyce.

The Packers roster includes Tre Razor, Nick Granata, Ben Kelly, Shane Kilcoyne,Josh Tilton,  Alex Ruther, Courtlyn Victrum, Logan Raymond, Amari Brown, Nick Ceja, Larry Joyce, Willie Sadler, Julius Beau, Alex Morrissey, Ayinde Johnson, Cash McCarthy, James Makszin, Jake Trani, Greg Gudalewski, John Chironna, Dax Generoso, Jeff Capone and Sean Leary.

The team was coached by Mark Johnson and Lawrence Davis. Assistant coaches included Ennis Granata, Ed Raymond and Charles Razor.
