Two girls lacrosse teams looking for their first win of the season will have to wait a little longer. The Brien McMahon and Fairfield Warde High School girls lacrosse teams tried to get in their game on Tuesday evening, but did not get far.
The game was suspended with 7:39 to play in the first half and Warde leading 5-3. Lightning was visible in the distance and a loud rumble of thunder sent players and spectators scurrying for cover. After a half-hour delay, the lightning and thunder returned and the game was put on hold. A date and time for the continuation of the game has yet to be determined.
