NORWALK, Conn. – Maritime Rowing Club of Norwalk won three events en route to a third-place finish at the USRowing Club Nationals earlier this month in Camden, N.J.

The finish was the highest ever for Maritime in the event, which included 100 clubs and 2,100 rowers.

“I am so proud of our athletes,” coach Yan Vengerovskiy said. “This is the best showing we have ever had at Club Nationals and to do it with so many younger rowers makes me especially proud.”

New Canaan’s Mary Campbell won two golds. She won the Women’s Junior B (under 17 singles), and joined her sister, Claire, Lauren Bell and Cara Hoelzl on the winning Women’s Junior B quad. Bell is from New Canaan, and Hoelzl is from Wilton.
