Liberty Wins Norwalk AA Girls Basketball Crown

NORWALK, Conn. – The Bondi Realty Liberty defeated JB’s Pizza and Deli Hooisers, 28-12, to win the first division of the Norwalk Athletic Association girls' basketball title Saturday.

Kaitlyn Covello scored 10 points to pace the winners. Reylene Martinez and Samantha Pierce added six apiece. The Liberty put the game away in the first half, building a 20-4 lead en route to its second championship in three years under coach Bert Santiago. The team finished undefeated during the regular season. The girls are ages 6-10.

The Liberty roster includes Lila Young, Reylene Martinz, Kaitlyn Covello, Samantha Pierre, Lamia Ashley and Shaniyia Daley.

In the second division, the Bulls won the championship game versus the Knicks. The Bulls are sponsored by Sono Seaport Seafood, and the Police Athletic League sponsor the Knicks.
