Laurel AC Wins 14th Straight and League Crown

Laurel AC beat Monker Grotto, 4-0, to end the season and take the 2011 Norwalk Little League majors championship. The win was Laurel AC’s 14th straight.

It was a complete team effort for Laurel, which was lead by the play of four of its 12 year olds: Mike Pascarelli, Joe LaRacca, Max Pagano and Anthony Bombace. Laurel took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third with some smart base running by Dax Generoso and an RBI ground-out by Anthony Africano.  Danny Frattaroli lead off the bottom of the fifth with a single and stole second, and LaRacca hit a long, two-run homer over the center field fence to give Laurel a 3-0 lead. Pagano followed with a bomb over the right center field fence to give Laurel AC a 4-0 lead entering the top of the sixth. Pascarelli threw another gem of a game, striking out nine batters and going six full innings to earn the complete game shutout. Bombace came up big with his glove and made four outstanding plays in right field that saved several runs.
