Italia Wins AA Little League Championship

Norwalk Little League's Italia team won the AA divisional championship in a tight, hard-fought defensive battle over John Glover Agency on Friday night. Both teams fielded the season's strongest pitching performances, with Italia prevailing in the 2-1 victory.

Jonathan Munoz, Mitchell Stiles and Branden Frederique carried Italia to victory with flawless performances on the mound, with John Glover's Michael Langley, Nicholas Natalie and Javier Gonzalez also keeping a single run from crossing the plate.

The only offense was provided by Italia's Munoz, Chris Joyce and Jose Vaquez, who squeezed across two runs, which turned out to be just enough. The big bats of Glover's Langley and Jake Luffman brought the game to within one run, only to be shut down by a pair of line-drive grabs by Munoz and Frederique to end the game.
