Greens Farms Whips Westover in Volleyball

WESTPORT, Conn. – Greens Farms Academy swept Westover in volleyball, 3-0, Wednesday to improve to 4-3. Game scores were not available.

The Dragons were led by seniors Kiera Wood (eight kills, three blocks) and Sarah MacDonell (15 assists). Sophomore Laura Reul contributed seven kills. Other top players for GFA included Sarah Young (nine aces) and freshman Claire Comey (seven aces). The two combined for 28 service points.

Defensively, the team relied on the consistent passing of senior Lucy Hoffman (three digs) and junior Rachel Schwimmer (five digs) and great coverage and athletic play by juniors Brooke Cirillo and Sarah Young.

The junior varsity volleyball team lost to Westover, 2-1. The game scores were 17-25, 25-13 and 27-25. GFA twice had game point in the final set by couldn’t put Westover away. GFA was lead by Hayes Marcus in serving and Alex Krebs' consistent passing.

The Dragons (4-3) face St. Luke’s next Wednesday.
