Greens Farms Blanked in Field Hockey

WESTPORT, Conn. – Hopkins scored two second-half goals to defeat Greens Farms Academy, 2-0, in a girls field hockey game Wednesday.

GFA struggled to get offensive momentum as Hopkins crowded the midfield the entire game. GFA midfielders Madison Leonard (Westport), a junior captain, and sophomores Maggie Sherin (Weston) and Hayley Holzinger (Norwalk) worked hard against a talented Hopkins squad. Freshman goalie Jenny Ross of Darien had 11 saves.

GFA hopes to rebound next week when it visits league rival St. Luke's.
