Hamlin is currently rated the No.8 recruit in the 2015 senior class by Tennisrecruiting.net and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the USTA national rankings.

At Duke, she will join the No. 2 and No. 4 rated players in the 2015 senior class. Her journey to Duke began at age 8, when she started training at Intensity in Norwalk. In the eighth grade, she joined its full-time Tennis Academy. Today, she is coached by her father, Ryan Ginley, senior director of the Full Time Academy and High Performance Program at Intensity.

“The fact that Ellyse is such an amazing person, student and daughter has made coaching and raising her the highlight of my life,” said Ginley. “I am so blessed to have been able to share the game I love with my family. Taking my daughter to work with me every day for the past five years has created a truly unique bond between us. It has been a special, special journey. Ellyse and Duke University are lucky to have each other in this next stage of her life.”

Hamlin had her eyes set on Duke since she visited the campus and met Duke Coach Jamie Ashworth.

“After seeing the amazing campus and meeting the coaches and girls on the team, I just knew it was the place for me,” Hamlin said. “The combination of athletics and academics was incredible. I am so excited to get to this new phase of my life."

Hamlin is on track to graduate from Intensity's home school program in January. She will sign her National Letter of Intent to play for Duke Universality on Nov. 12.
