Fairfield Men Play Home Opener vs. Providence

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University meets Providence College Monday night at Webster Bank Arena in the return of former Fairfield coach Ed Cooley.

Tip-off is set for 7:30. The Stags opened their season with a 72-60 victory over Quinnipiac on Friday.

Cooley accepted the job at Providence earlier this year after spending four seasons at Fairfield. It will be the first home game for Fairfield coach Sydney Johnson.

The Stags won their opener behind Maurice Barris (19 points) and Rakim Sanders (16). Derek Needham added 14 and Ryan Olander had 12 for the Stags.

Providence beat Fairleigh Dickinson in its only game this season.
