Fairfield County Athletes Star at New England Meet

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Staples boys track and field team won two events while Fairfield Warde’s Harry Warnick won the mile at Friday’s New England track and field championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Staples junior Henry Wynne won the 1,000, while the Wreckers also took the 4 x 400 relay. Greenwich also had an outstanding night, with a second place finish in the 4 x 200 relay and a third place from Marcus Motill in the 600.

Highlights from other Main Street Connect communities included:

Norwalk: Adam Robertino, second in the 55 hurdles and Brien McMahon’s Shelly Lindo, who ran 7.32 in the 55-meter dash. Norwalk’s Cryslte Hill ran 7.45 in the same event. Lindo also ran in the 55 hurdles.

Stamford: Westhill’s Claire Howlett finished ninth in the 3,200.

Darien: Grace Loh was sixth in the 1,000.  Leah Hotchkiss and Catherine Lacy were 15th in the high jump.

New Canaan: 10th in the 4 x 800 relay with Henson Orster, Kalan Lysenko, Isaiah Maoisonette and Alexi Spinu, and 16th in the shot put with Rami Hamdan.

Wilton: Alex Ward, 12th in the long jump.
