Cranbury League Baseball Roundup

NORWALK, Conn. – Results from recent baseball games in the Cranbury League in Norwalk: 

Mustang Division (ages 9 and 10 years)

Tim's Philly Steak 13, VAT Plumbing 6: Tim’s was led by Brendan Edvardsen and Evan Donohue, who each had three hits, while Michael Donohue, Travis Lajoie and Harry Tavella had two each. Edvardsen, the Donohue brothers, Evan Lander and Luke Dube all chipped in pitching. VAT Plumbing was led by Ian Asonovic and Ethan Liu, who both had hits, reached base three times, and scored, while Jake Palmer and Ben Plaag pitched well in defeat

Village Gourmet 6, Gutter Guys 3: Village opened up with first-inning hits by Austin Hall, Ryan Trani, Sean Murawski and Adam Peter. In their bottom half of the 1st, however, Gutter Guys answered with two runs on a walk, aggressive base-running and hits by Nathan Bennett and Kaden Lintz, bringing the score to 4-2. Village responded with two runs on hits by Hall, Trani and Murawski, bringing the score to 6-2. But that’s where the runs stopped for Village as Gutter Guys brought Gavin Key to the mound. He finished the game with nine strikeouts in the last four innings and held Village scoreless throughout. Gutter guys did threaten again when it loaded the bases with two outs, but the damage was limited to one run as Village walked a fourth batter to score, then got the last out on a strikeout by Hall.

In another game, Tim's Philly Steaks beat VAT Plumbing and Heating, 13-6. 

Tim’s leads the league with a 6-1-1 mark, followed by Village Gourmet at  4-4.

Bronco Division

DJK 3, O’Neill’s 2: Renn Lints pitched a complete game, striking out 12 and carrying a no-hit bid into the final inning. Jonathan Roach had two hits, stole four bases and scored a run. Clayton Bray and Lints scored the other runs for DJK. AJ Hall and Andrew Fallon both doubled and scored in the final inning for O'Neill's. O'Neill's pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts in the loss.

Laurel AC 9, Crown Trophy 5: Eddie McCabe hit 2 doubles and Eric Hernandez also crushed a two-bagger, delivering the big hits for Laurel AC. Quinn Sandor went 3-for-4 and scored a run. Other hits were delivered by Justin Buswell, Oliver Harary, Michael Mallozi, Alec Parker and Jake Cavicchia. For Crown Trophy, Jake Traini and Marco Monteiro had multiple hits.

Laurel AC leads the league with a 7-1 mark, followed by O’Neill’s at 4-5.
