Cranbury Baseball Collects for Players in Uganda

NORWALK, Conn. – Cranbury Community Athletic Association will collect baseball gloves for the Gloves For Uganda program Saturday at Cranbury Elementary School beginning at 8:15 a.m.

The program was started by Norwalk resident Marian Edvardsen to provide much needed baseball equipment for children in Uganda.

Edvardsen is a local youth baseball mother with a lifelong passion for the sport. She has taken her love of baseball and her interest in Africa and said she decided to help contribute to the children of Uganda who do not have the equipment that many youngsters in the U.S. take for granted.

Cranbury baseball will also be collecting gloves and cleats throughout the 2012 season.

A bin will be located at Cranbury to collect the gloves and cleats. For more information on Gloves For Uganda, contact Edvardsen at webehappy22@me.com or 203-858-2681.
