The Whole Foods Cook Your Buns Run and BBQ begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Tod's Point in Old Greenwich.
The event includes a 3-mile cross-country race, a 1-mile kids' run and a barbeque afterward. The pre-entry fee for the 3-mile race is $20. Race day entry is $25. For the 1-mile kids' race, the fees are $15 pre-entry and $20 post-entry.
Anatolie Vartosu of Stamford won last year's 3-mile race in 15:25. Ryan Haggerbrant was runner-up in 15:37 and fellow Greenwich resident Andrew Gross was just one second behind in third. Pilar Miltz (17:38) of Boston was the women's winner and 17th overall.
Friday's event is the fourth in the Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup series of 10 events.
The Greenwich Point Swim, the fifth event in the Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup series, begins at 7:30 a.m. July 9. The 1-mile swim takes place at Tod's Point.
