Comets Nip Monarchs for Norwalk Girls Hoops Crown

NORWALK, Conn. – The Comets defeated the Lady Monarchs, 14-10, for the Division 2 title of the Norwalk Recreation and Parks girls basketball league.

The team includes Dina Diblasio, Kristen Carrano, Sanaa Boyd, Janelle Johnson, Taylor Morton, Natalie Pitteway, Jessica Otto and Sophie Valiante. It is coached by Kevin Morton, assisted by Dan Santorella. The top-seeded Comets finished the season 11-1.

The second-seeded Monarchs finished 9-3 and were led by Tamia Fulton with six points. Division 2 includes players in fifth and sixth grade.

In Division 4, the top-seeded Volunteers won the championship with a forfeit victory over the Tar Heels.
