Carver Eighth-Graders Fall in Playoff Semifinals

NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Carver Center eighth-grade boys basketball team lost to Darien, 61-55, Sunday in the semifinals of the Fairfield County Basketball League AA Division playoffs.

Carver finished the season 13-8 under coach Dave Williams.

Carver won two games in the tournament, including a 58-44 win against Danbury in the semifinals. Danbury (22-7) finished in first place in the A Division of the league during the regular season. Carver also defeated West Haven Blue, 60-50, in its first tournament game.

After starting the season with three straight losses, Carver rallied to win eight of its final 10 league games. It won three straight league games to finish the regular season after losing to Darien, 54-47, Feb. 4.

Carver’s lineup included A.J.  Jerome, T.J. Burden, Kyle Davis, Saheed Anderson, DeAndre Russell, Terrance Bates, Tyler Navarro and Pete Kotulsky. View more pictures from the game at www.bestallstarpics.com .
