The Sound Tigers will be honoring cancer survivors throughout the game and auctioning memorabilia, with proceeds going to Norwalk Hospital.

“We are delighted to team up with Norwalk Hospital for such a great cause,” Sound Tigers President Howard Saffan said. “They have been so generous to the Sound Tigers and we are honored to partner with them for a day they can call their own. There are so many brave cancer survivors throughout this state and this is a terrific way to honor them.”

Lavender T-shirts for cancer awareness will be handed out to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. There will also be a silent auction of Sound Tigers and Islanders memorabilia. All proceeds will go to the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital.

Fans wearing purple to the arena will receive $5 off at the box office on the day of the game.

"The Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital is pleased to be partnering with the Sound Tigers to promote cancer awareness,” said Linda Versea, director of cancer services at Norwalk Hospital. “This will be a fun and memorable event to benefit cancer patients.”
