Boys Basketball Ready for March Madness in States

The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference announced the schedule and bracket for the boys basketball tournament in all four divisions Wednesday morning. With the FCIAC tournament in the books, Fairfield County teams are ready to focus on their runs at being the best in the state.

Teams in the Main Street Connect readership area are listed below. All first, second and third round games are played at the higher seed's home court. Check the CIAC website for the full state playoff schedule.

Class LL Tournament - First Round, Monday, March 7

#7 Brien McMahon (16-4, lost FCIAC quarterfinals) vs. #26 Newtown (10-10), 7 p.m.

#9 Fairfield Prep (15-5) vs. #24 East Hartford (10-10), 7 p.m.

#11 Westhill (15-5, lost FCIAC semifinals ) vs. #22 Newington (11-9), 7 p.m.

#12 Staples (15-5, lost FCIAC quarterfinals) vs. #21 Amity (12-8), 7 p.m.

#18 Stamford (13-7, lost FCIAC finals ) at #15 Norwich Free Academy (13-6), 6 p.m.

Class M Tournament - First Round, Monday, March 7

#3 Notre Dame-Fairfield (17-3) vs. #30 Plainville (9-11), 7 p.m.

#18 Trinity Catholic (12-8, lost FCIAC semifinals ) at #15 Brookfield (13-7), 7 p.m.

Class L Tournament - First Round, Tuesday, March 8
