The District 1 Little League tournament heads into its second week with teams from Stamford, Wilton and Darien still unbeaten.
In pool A, defending District 1 champion North Stamford has jumped out to a 3-0 record with wins over Springdale, Redding and Northrop. National Lione and Stamford American are 2-0. They face each other Tuesday at 5:30 at Springdale. Lione meets North Stamford on Thursday.
Darien American is 3-0 in pool B, while Wilton is 2-0. They are scheduled to square off on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Redding Boys and Girls Club. Norwalk (1-1) plays Wilton Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Bill Terry Field in a key tournament game. Ridgefield National is also 1-1.
The top two teams from each pool advance to the semifinals, scheduled for July 13 at Springdale. The District 1 championship game is July 17 at Frank Noto Field in Stamford.
In the 9- and 10-year-old baseball tournament, North Stamford and Wilton are 5-0. The semifinals for that tournament are scheduled for Friday at Scalzi Park in Stamford.
