Let Superintendent Susan Marks know how you want to make up snow days. Marks has posted a survey on the Norwalk Public Schools website asking for community input. The three choices are 1) add days in June, 2) use February vacation days, 3) use spring break days.
In the survey, Marks says the district has to make up four days to meet the state's minimum requirement of 180 days of school. (Six days have been missed due to snow, but the district had allotted two extra days for this purpose). "These days are usually made up at the end of the year; however, with so many days to make up, I am interested in your opinions on the makeup days," writes Marks.
Tuesday's Board of Education meeting, at which makeup days was to be discussed, has been canceled due to weather conditions.
Do you think the survey is a good idea? How will you vote?
