NORWALK, Conn. -- Staff and families of Columbus Magnet School will be teaming up with the residents of the King Kennedy apartments from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 to beautify its playground and the surrounding area.
The goal of the event is to clean up and beautify the school ground and surrounding area through community and collaboration, instilling a sense of respect, pride and appreciation for the school's surroundings. The school also hopes to create a safe playground for the students and the children in the community.
This event is being paid for by a grant from the Lowe’s "Toolbox for Education" program.
“Lowe’s is committed to enhancing the educational experience and improving schools for students across the country,” said Marshall Croom, chairman of Lowe’s charitable and educational foundation in a prepared statement.
