Teen Chefs To Display Talents At Norwak's Taste For Education Benefit

NORWALK, Conn. – Thirteen-year-old Hunter Zampa, a "Chopped: Teen Talent" champion from Stamford, will work with his fellow students to prepare tastings for the Norwalk Education Foundation's Taste for Education Benefit.

For all you foodies, the "Taste" will be Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Aitoro’s in Norwalk.

Chef Hunter Z, a Stamford resident attending Norwalk’s Center for Global Studies at Brien McMahon High School, will marry his interest in Asian culture with his culinary talent. Hunter will be preparing food contributed by Whole Foods.

Other newcomers at the food event include: Romanacci’s, Bloom Bros. Oysters & Clams, Dash of Salt, Mama’s Boy, Garden Grill & Bar, Los Poblanos, BMS Baking Company, One Bro Pizza Co. and Spiked Seltzer along with longtime partners Diageo, Fountainhead Wines, Wave Hill Breads, Solude Coffee and the local culinary students cooking with produce from Norwalk Grows.

The corporate sponsors are AT&T, FactSet, Webster Bank, Terex, Dean Cleaners, and Benefit Planning Services.

During the event, guests can bid on a variety of items, including several Derek Jeter sports memorabilia items from Steiner Sports. All-Star Driver has donated a comprehensive driver’s education class, valued at over $700. NBC Universal has donated two VIP "Meredith Viera Show" tickets.

All proceeds go toward NEF’s mission of Supporting Excellence in Education in Norwalk. The Norwalk Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 to raise private funds for Norwalk Schools. It has a long history of supporting: Teacher Effectiveness, Classroom Innovation, Community Engagement through Community Forums and Partnerships with other Norwalk organizations.

Tickets are $45 before the event and $55 at the door.
