Superintendent Search Meeting Canceled

Updated at 1:45 p.m. to add that the Monday night meeting at Norwalk High School has been canceled, too.

NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk superintendent search committee public meeting scheduled for Monday evening at the Stepping Stones Museum on West Avenue has been canceled due to the weather and now will be Wednesday, Board of Education Chairman Michael Lyons said.

The meeting, designed to gather input from parents and residents on the characteristics the city should look for in a new superintendent, will be at 7 p.m. at the museum, 303 West Ave.

Seven community meetings are scheduled throughout the city to collect input. A second meeting scheduled for  7 p.m. Monday in the library at Norwalk High School has also been canceled as of 1:45 p.m. Monday. A make up date for that meeting has not yet been announced.

The remaining meeting dates are:

Tuesday: 7 p.m. – Carver Community Center; Community Room; 7 Academy St.

Tuesday: 7 p.m . – Brien McMahon High School; Center for Global Studies Community Room; 300 Highland Ave.

Wednesday: 7 p.m. – Stepping Stones; Multi-Media Gallery; 303 West Ave.

Feb. 19: 7 p.m. – South Norwalk Community Center; Multi-Purpose Room; 98 S. Main St. (In Spanish)

Feb. 20: 7 p.m. – Norwalk City Hall; Community Room; 125 East Ave.

Feb. 21: 7 p.m. – Grace Baptist Church; Martin Luther King Hall; 17 West Ave.
