Rowayton Carnival Gets Off to a Great Start

Samantha Zeller, 7, and 9-year-olds Mathew Zeller and Grace DeCesare looked expectant Friday evening as they waited for yet another ride to begin. Their faith was rewarded and their faces got even brighter when they spun in circles over the grass at Rowayton Elementary School in Norwalk.

Great weather meant great business at the annual Rowayton PTA fundraiser, the first school carnival this year, where the field was crowded with families. The fun continues Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attractions include an assortment of rides suitable for young children and teenagers and midway games, as well as delectable baked goods and an assortment of hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork for sale.

The weather is again expected to be good, with a high temperature of 61 degrees, partly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain, according to Weather Underground.

Rowayton Elementary School is at 1 Roton Ave. There is no admission fee, and tickets are sold for the rides.
