Reinoso Named Director Of Norwalk's School-Based Health Centers

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Human Services Council of Norwalk announced the appointment of Carlos Reinoso Jr. as the Director of the Dr. Robert E. Appleby School Based Health Centers.

Carlos Reinoso has been named Director of the Dr. Robert E. Appleby School Based Health Centers in Norwalk. The health centers are run by the Human Services Council.

For the past year, Reinoso has been the Director of the Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition (MFSAC) at HSC. He lives in Monroe. 

Reinoso has been in the field of Public Health, Human Services and Education for the past 17 years. He has worked in clinical and educational settings as well as collaborated with many community centers and agencies statewide. Carlos has extensive experience in prevention through educational presentations, community outreach, case management and coalition work .

He served as coordinator of services at the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) where he was responsible for statewide outreach, legislative advocacy and community relations. He is a Design Team Member and a certified facilitator for the Parent Leadership Training Institute, with the State of Connecticut, Commission on Children, a nationally certified Mental Health First Aid trainer and also trains providers on Cultural Competency.

“In his role as Director of the School Based Health Centers, Carlos will manage the current SBHCs in the Norwalk public schools,'' said Anthony DiLaura, Executive Director of the Human Services Council. "He has the leadership qualities and entrepreneurial spirit to help grow the program and serve even more students in our community. We wish him endless success in his new role.”

Reinoso has a Master’s Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor’s of Science in both Psychology and Human Services, along with additional certifications and training in Behavioral Healthcare and Gerontology. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese as well. He resides in Monroe with his wife Stacy and four children.
