NORWALK, Conn. — Those Norwalk students who don't already love reading will be well on their way once they receive a free book courtesy of the Norwalk Federation of Educational Personnel and their "First Book" initiative.
Recently 40,000 new books arrived in Norwalk, which NFEP members and other volunteers are busy sorting the 27 pallets of books into reading levels. The books will then be delivered out to every school in the district, and distributed free to students through their schools.
The "First Book" initiative is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading, and to help all Norwalk students succeed in school.
