NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk's Wolfpit Elementary School will host the annual Pumpkin Festival on Saturday.
The event starts at 11 a.m. at 1 Starlight Drive in Norwalk with a possible rain date of Sunday. The group is offering a free Amber Alert Registration Booth, for parents to have an identification card printed for their child in the event the child goes missing, according to a news release.
The event will include carnival games, rides (bounce houses), food, drinks, baked goods, music and a tractor ride that will bring families and friends to the “Wolfpit Pumpkin Patch,” according to the release. In the patch, families can browse through pumpkins purchase them to take home.
"We realize this economy is making it hard to enjoy a day out with your family, so we are offering ride bands for $20, which are good for the entire day, and games for $1," representatives said in the release. "The money we raise from this event is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year. Some of the money we have raised in the past has helped us fund smart boards for all the classrooms and new computers for our computer lab. PTO's today are becoming more and more responsible for the funding of technology in the Norwalk Schools. This event helps make that happen."
