Norwalk's Marching Bears Mows Over Competition

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk High School Marching Band took first place in the National Class of Bands at a Musical Arts Conference competition in Newtown on Oct. 18.

Norwalk also won Best Color Guard’ and Best Percussion.

Competing against rival Trumbull, the Bears won with a total of 92.35, while Trumbull was second with 90.75.

The Brien McMahon Band also competed in this event in Class IV hey scored a very well earned and respectable 81.55. McMahon's total was the third highest score among the nine teams in the competition.

Norwalk also won at Naugatuck, Trumbull, Jonathan Law and Brookfield in other events this fall.

The Bears next take the field in Shelton on Saturday, Oct. 25. Norwalk's show is scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m. The season concludes with the MAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport.
