The high school program, pioneered by Linda Mayes and Federico Vaca, will be for six weeks in June and July, according to a press release.

Incoming high school seniors Catherine Reid of Oxford, Haddon Smith of Monroe, and Valeria Sarmiento of Norwalk will participate in research, seminars, career clubs and lectures, according to a press release.

The program will culminate in a poster session in July where the interns will present their work, according to a press release.

The students were selected based on their outstanding academic performance, teacher recommendations and interviews. Last summer, two other Christian Heritage students did similar internships at Yale and are now heading to college pre-med programs, according to a press release.

“Engaging students in robust and meaningful summer activities – whether it’s international community service trips, a summer job, or an internship – is very beneficial and something we endeavor to facilitate,” said Brian Modarelli, head of school at Christian Heritage School, in a press release.

Christian Heritage School is a private, K-12, college-preparatory day school in Trumbull.
