“We’re extremely grateful for this generous grant, which I believe will help us drive meaningful change across Norwalk,” Superintendent Manuel Rivera said. “The new funding adds significant momentum to the work laid out in our strategic plan and helps support our commitment to making sure all our students graduate college and career ready.”

The one-year grant uses both public and private resources to help meet the district’s goals by 2020. The Dalio Foundation supports the district’s initiatives to ensure its elementary school teachers and principals are dedicated to the Common Core standards.

Instructional coaching in the elementary schools and the professional development in the area of literacy, related to Common Core, will also be a focus.

The Dalio Foundation is a private, Connecticut-based organization.
