Norwalk Schools On Two-Hour Delay Thursday

NORWALK, Conn. -- Wednesday's nor'easter has delayed the Thursday start time for Norwalk's schools by two hours, the school system announced.

As a result of the delay, buses will roll approximately two hours later than normal.

Although passable, road conditions throughout much of the city were a bit tricky early Thursday after the storm dumped a few inches of snow.

The National Weather Service forecasts the storm to clear out this morning, with a chance of rain, sleet or snow ending after 9 a.m. The daytime high will be in the mid-40s.

Storm-related power outages were at a minimum, according to Connecticut Light & Power, which reported only one household with no electricity. Wednesday evening the number had increased to 125 from 49 earlier in the day.

Additional Department of Public Works road crews, CL&P line and tree crews and police and fire personnel were on standby Wednesday night to deal with the storm, city officials said.
