NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk High School marching band won its third straight Musical Arts Conference championship last Saturday at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport.

Playing in cold and rainy weather, Norwalk won with a score of 97.3. Trumbull, Norwalk's longtime rival, finished with 96.4.

The Marching Bears also won the "Caption Awards" for Outstanding Marching, Outstanding General Effect, Outstanding Woodwind and Outstanding Brass sections.

This victory capped off another amazing MAC season as the band won every competition in which it performed.

Norwalk travels to Cheshire on Saturday to compete in a U.S. Bands competition. Thereafter, it will compete in the U.S. Bands Championships to be held at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J., on Nov. 15.

Fans who can not attend shows are encouraged to visit the band as it practices on Friday nights at Andrews Field.
