Tenofsky is joining the Norwalk-based Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation as development manager.

Costa will transition from board member to interim director at the Norwalk Education Foundation.

Costa is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross. She has spent her professional career as a producer and videographer and has lent her skills and expertise to local schools, Cablevision and the Carver Center working with students. She has served Norwalk Public Schools as a PTO President, parent volunteer and dedicated NEF board member.

“I am grateful to Gloria for so many things,'' board chair Liz Reid said. "First and foremost, I am grateful for her faith and confidence in me in bringing me into NEF and introducing me to all of you wonderful parents, teachers, committed community members. I think that in addition to all of the incredible things that NEF does, her biggest legacy is the board that she assembled to carry it on."

“NEF is in a solid position,'' Tenofsky said. "The organization has attracted several new sources of funding. The primary programs continue to demonstrate positive outcomes. NEF continues to be in a unique position to bridge private/public partnerships between Norwalk Public Schools, local community organizations and the business community."

Tenofsky said working with Norwalk Public Schools has been an inspiring period.

"However, this new position will allow me to grow professionally and open up new opportunities,'' she said. "I am very confident that NEF will continue to thrive under the leadership of Liz Reid and Marge Costa. I will continue to advise them on strategic decisions, grants and events as the organization moves forward.”

The Norwalk Education Foundation is an independent organization whose mission is to support excellence and innovation in Norwalk Public Schools.
