NORWALK, Conn. — As temperatures rise to nearly 90 degrees with stifling humidity in Norwalk, a number of the city's schools will be dismissing students two hours early Friday.

The early dismissal is set for the following schools only: Nathan Hale, Ponus, Roton, West Rocks, Cranbury, Naramake, Kendall, Rowayton, Silvermine, Tracey and Wolfpit.

That list includes all four of the city's middle schools and seven elementary schools.

After school programs and activities at the schools with early dismissal are canceled.
