NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Community College Extended Studies and Workforce Education Division will offer a 20-session pharmacy technician training program from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting Feb. 17.
The program will prepare students for entry-level positions in community and hospital pharmacy setting. They also will be trained to take the “Pharmacy Certified Technician” examination. A high school diploma or the equivalent is required to take the exam.
The class will meet from 7-10 p.m.
Tuition is $699; textbooks and materials will be additional.
The Connecticut Pharmacy Association will provide instruction.
Students will be instructed on prescription and over-the counter drugs, compounding, calculations, legal aspects of pharmacy, parental administration of drugs and aseptic techniques.
A strong background in mathematics is recommended.
