Sawyer will present his archaeological investigations of the homestead of governors Quosh and Roswell Freeman, two of Connecticut's 19th century black governors.
He is an adjunct instructor of Anthropology at Central Connecticut State University and Sacred Heart University and field director for the Archaeology Laboratory for African and African Diaspora Studies.
The free lecture will take place in the West Campus Culinary Arts Dining Room at 8 p.m.
