Norwalk CC Offers Certified Nurse Aide Program For Spring

NORWALK, CONN. — Norwalk Community College's Extended Studies and Workforce Education Division will begin a 12-session, 108-hour Certified Nurse Aid Certificate program on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

The sessions are aimed at preparing students to work in long-term care nursing facilities, and will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m.

The course's hourly breakdown includes 36 hours of classroom instruction and 72 hours of practical hands-on training in a clinical setting. Students must attend all lectures, labs and clinical instruction to be certified.

The course is approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and students will be able to apply to work in long-term-care facilities when the course is completed.

Students are also required to take a medical exam that meets state requirements to work in a health care facility, and results must be given at the first class.

Instructor Nancy Kroszner has 20 years of experience as a a Registered Nurse in Acute Care and Long-Term Care settings.

Tuition is $799, and texts are additional.
