NORWALK, Conn. The high school football season had its opening games this weekend, but it was also the beginning of the competitive campaign for local marching bands.
Brien McMahon High School's Celebration of Sound, the traditional lid-lifter for the marching band season, went off under chilly skies Saturday more typical of October than September. And the ensembles from Fairfield and Westchester counties kept the crowds warm with up-tempo numbers throughout the evening.
