Norwalk Student Commended As National Merit Scholar

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Nine Fairfield Prep students were commended in the National Merit Scholarship Program, with senior Dylan Hawkes honored as a National Merit semifinalist.

The seniors are recognized based on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test taken in their junior year. Over 1.5 million students from across the nation entered the competition by taking the test, and the Prep winners were selected based on placement in the Top 5 percent in highly competitive Connecticut.

The Fairfield Prep students who earned the honor are: Robert Barrett of Darien; Thomas Wiig of Southport; Simon Whiteman of Trumbull; Dylan Hawkes of Trumbull; Charles Paul of Darien; Christopher Specht of Easton; Gavin Granath of Darien; Dongju Lee of Fairfield; Griffin Roth of Fairfield and Sean Geercken of Norwalk.
