Compare High School Test Scores By Town

How did your town do on the 2011 Connecticut Achievement Performance Test? And how do your scores compare with your neighboring towns? 

Below is a list of 2011 CAPT scores for 10 cities and towns in the region,  based on test scores released by the Connecticut State Department of Education on Tuesday morning. In the table below, the school districts are grouped together by District Reference Groups (DRG) -- a state classification that groups together districts with similar demographics.

The CAPT is administered annually in March to high school sophomores across Connecticut. It tests math, reading, writing and science and is used by the federal government to measure yearly progress through the No Child Left Behind law. The CAPT has five levels of performance for each content area: Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, Goal and Advanced.
