NORWALK, Conn. Questions about proposed cuts to Norwalk's school budget will be answered Friday, according the chairman of the board of education.
Jack Chiaramonte says that after meeting with union leaders, board members and others, Superintendent Susan Marks will release a list of proposed cuts to balance the 2012-13 budget with the money available from the city. That will be about $10 million less than the amount Marks had hoped to spend when she made her proposed budget some months ago.
This is because of a $4 million shortfall in this year's budget, which has been attributed primarily to a miscalculation in the cost of insurance benefits.
A reader of Norwalk Daily Voice wrote in to share what she expects to be among the cuts. Chiaramonte said to wait, the answer will be available Friday.
