Clean Your Closets, Donate To Brien McMahon High's Used Clothing Drive

NORWALK, Conn. — The Brien McMahon High School semiannual clothing drive on Saturday will raise funds this year for several Parents Club programs, including funding scholarships, the post-grad party, and for a special fund open to teachers and clubs to support specific activities.

“The money raised for this event makes a big difference to what we can do for the students,” says Mary Flynn, co-chair of the clothing drive. “Community support is really important and we’re hoping that parents will come out in a big way this fall.”

The used clothing drive will be Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the entrance to the Center for Global Studies at Brien McMahon High School Center, 300 Highland Ave, Norwalk.

The clothing drive accepts clothing, coats, belts, handbags, linens, pillows, backpacks, luggage, stuffed animals, boots, shoes, even bicycles and other sporting equipment.

“This is the perfect time of year to clean out the closets and the garage, but please remember that all items must be packaged in plastic bags and please keep footwear separate (shoes, boots, sneakers and sandals).”

They are also accepting old cell phones, tablets and other electronic devices as part of the school’s Green Fundraiser.

All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided on request during drop-off.
